Bryan MacMurray

Hi! I’m an experienced SEO professional with a focus on the technical aspects of organic search marketing.

What I Do

Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to learn a variety of skills. Here’s what I bring to the table:

writing

Content

Content is central to SEO – websites live or die by their content quality. I got my start in the industry by conceptualizing, planning, editing, and optimizing content for organic search.

I continue to employ SEO best practices with keyword strategies targeted to improve client business outcomes throughout my career.

Technical

Getting a website to rank in search results requires good content, but getting your site to stay ranked requires performant webpages with a good user experience.

I’ve spent much of my career learning how to measure website performance, identify issues, and find solutions to deliver a quality user experience.

Client Relations

Here’s where content and technical skills get tested-  delivering salient analysis and clear actionable plans to clients is a must.

I’ve had experience communicating strategic vision and solutions to stakeholders in a variety of industries, ranging from global nonprofits, political consulting, B2B software, insurance, and eCommerce.

Examples of My Work

This site is a work in progress, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

This is an article I’ve written as a short exercise in content writing targeted at a niche audience with some informative background information about a problem (Netflix being unavailable on the Steam Deck, and why that’s the case) and a short how-to article about how to fix it. To track it’s performance on search, I’ve put together a basic Google Data Studio Report.

I put this together to demonstrate how to dynamically add Rich-Result targeting features to a page using Google Tag Manager. GTM deploys custom JavaScript that detects embedded videos and queries the YouTube API to construct a JSON-LD structured data tag that is then added into the page.
